Heavy-Duty Workplace
Clean your time clock as needed in heavy-duty work environments, The presence of high dust, dirt and debris can jam the time card slot.
Error Codes
If your time clock screen is displaying an error code, the fix may be a simple cleaning or ribbon change.
Incomplete or Light Printing
Incomplete or light printing may indicate low ribbon ink, or that the ink has dried out. A dirty print head may also be the culprit.
Here is what you will need to clean your time clock:
- Can of Compressed Air
- Rubbing Alcohol
- Foam Applicator
- Non-penetrating Grease (such as Magnalube-G)
- Clean, Dry Cloth
How To Clean
1. Unlock and remove time clock cover.
2. Use canned air to blow out debris from the time card slot.
3. Using a cloth, wipe down ribbon carriage rod then disperse a few drops of grease on the rod.
4. Remove the ribbon cartridge from the time clock and use a foam applicator/swab dampened with rubbing alcohol to clean the exposed print head.
5. With ribbon removed, run a time card through the clock 10-15 times. This procedure will remove any ink buildup from the print head. If there is no ink on the time card, add a little more alcohol. The print should start to darken, and then lighten up as you continue to run the card through the clock.
6. Reinstall the ribbon, replace and lock the time clock cover.
